Tom Garland creates engaging mystery and suspense novels that keep readers constantly coming back for more. His writings today consist of Awaken and "An Unlikely Terrorist". As of January 2016 his newly released book Awaken he has taken readers by surprise.
The son of an insurance salesman and a schoolteacher, Garland grew up in Dallas, Texas, where his first desire for writing sparked. From there at the age of nineteen Tom began casually writing novels and short stories. In 1969, he graduated from Eastfield College. He was given a full ride to the graduate program in English but dropped out after a year, knowing that he wouldn't be able to pursue his passion for writing if he became a college professor.
Instead, he chose to continue working his job while writing on the side, eventually publishing his first novel.
In 2015, while still working for Bill Chacon, Garland published his first novel, An Unlikely Terrorist. After being turned down by multiple publishers, it became a best seller through utilizing Facebook and Amazon to self publish. Garland's 2016 novel, Awaken, was finally launched globally and is on track to becoming a New York Times bestseller in fiction.
